The 56,000 sq. ft. center houses biology, chemistry, fisheries, zoology, and microbiology laboratories as well as computer technology laboratory and testing facilities.

Sustainable features include geothermal ground coupled heat pumps with under floor displacement ventilation air distribution and assisted natural ventilation in the connecting spine.
