The new center features a 30-meter swimming pool to serve the varsity swim teams, as well as the kayaking, water polo and recreational swimming needs of the college. More than 10,000 sq. ft. of the center contains fitness training equipment to serve students, faculty and staff as well as more than 30 varsity and club sport teams at Whitman.

Sustainable features include a grey water system, heat recovery, variable speed fans, CO2 monitoring, a heat pump water heater for the pool, and shower heat recovery.
