This two-part project involved replacement of the cooling tower on top of the 27-story federal office tower. An initial study determined that the cooling tower had outlived its useful life and should be replaced as a preventive measure to ensure air conditioning reliability for the building. In the second phase, Notkin determined the optimum capacities and equipment for replacing the cooling tower and associated plant piping. The Siskorsi air crane that lifted the tower happened to be the same as the one used in the movie, SWAT, the week before.
