Completion: 2004
Naval Station Bremerton’s new $24.3 million, P-301 BEQ was delivered 11 months ahead of schedule through team collaboration and a fast-track approach. This 98,786 sq. ft., temporary housing structure met both AT/FP and sustainability requirements. A LEED certification rating was achieved through use of recycled and environmentally-friendly materials, as well as high efficiency mechanical equipment and direct digital controls to achieve optimum energy performance. Energy-saving equipment is estimated to save up to 15% in long-term energy and utility costs. Special challenges included an environmentally sensitive site and undocumented underground utility systems.
The project is the recipient of two awards: the 2005 SAME Design Excellence Design/Build Silver Award and the 2006 NAVFAC Commander’s Certificate of Commendation.
