This 10,000-sf addition earned a LEED silver rating by the U.S. Green Building Council. Sustainable features include: passive/active heating and ventilation systems, plumbing designed for water conservation, highly insulated envelope, fixed exterior shading devices, condensing boilers, and water heater. Notkin designed the original mechanical system for High Point, incorporating the use of a solar trombe wall to save energy-the first application of this technology in Seattle.
